We commit ourselves to using toxin free, safe ingredients in our products. That's why only 100% essential oils and plant-based alcohol are used in our Natural Healing Collection Linen & Room Sprays. Our Shimmers Clean Cleansing Cream line is made with plant-based and biodegradable ingredients that are gentle and moisturizing to the body. They are also free from toxic phthalates and sulfates. Natural scents from essential oils are also used (in safe usage levels) instead of synthetic fragrance oils. Lastly, our candle scents are made with 100% plant-based wax, cotton wicks and 100% phthalate free fragrance oils.

Phthalates are chemical compounds that were discovered to cause many reproductive health and developmental problems (i.e. causes reproductive and genital defects, lowers sperm count and testosterone levels, and interferes with natural hormone functions) in lab animals. Phthalates are used to soften PVC (vinyl) materials for use in plastic products such as containers, plastic wrap, plastic toys, and medical equipment such as intravenous (IV) tubing, catheters, and even blood bags. They are also used in common personal care products such as nail polish, deodorants, hair gels, shampoos, soaps, hairsprays and body lotions to add lubrication and in perfumes to carry fragrances. Phthalates may be inhaled, ingested and absorbed into our system through the skin. And although they tend to pass out of the body quickly through our visits to the bathroom, they still pose a higher risk to the health of children under 3 years old whose bodies are smaller and still developing. Since children love putting things in their mouths, their phthalate exposure increases when they suck on plastic toys and other PVC materials. Fortunately, there are easy ways to identify phthalate-containing plastic toys clothing bottles food/beverage containers, and food wraps. Look for the number 3 inside the universal recycling product symbol that's usually molded into the bottom of the item. Avoid products with the number 3 inside the symbol and with the letters "V" and "PVC" below it. Choose products with the numbers (with corresponding abbreviation underneath) 1 (PETE), 2 (HDPE), 4 (LDPE) and 5 (PP) inside the symbol. The abbreviations represent the type of phthalate-free material used to make the product.

Skincare is such a wide, complex arena with many opportunities for debate when it comes to what ingredients are safe to use or not. We commit ourselves to using only those that are naturally-derived or are responsible synthetics considered safe for the body. There are, however, good starting points to jump off from as an ingredient-watchlist on product labels. A good place to start is to stay away from products that contain: (1) Oxybenzone --- found in sunscreens, the skin absorbs it at a rate of 188 times the safe level at the first application. Go for mineral sunscreens instead that stay on the surface and don't carry the potential to disrupt hormones and affect fertility. (2) Methylisothiazolinone -- a preservative in shampoos and cleansers that may cause burning, itching and even hives. (3) Sodium Lauryl Sulfate -- found in many shampoos and body washes, is very drying on the skin and frequently causes irritation. (4) Acrylates --- used as adhesives in artificial nail products and false eyelashes, they can cause contact allergies and may even be carcinogenic. (5) Parabens -- common in makeup and moisturizers, have been linked to breast cancers, hormonal imbalances and infertility. (6) Formaldehyde --- used in hair, skincare and cosmetics as a preservative to prevent bacterial growth, it may put you at higher risk for cancer. (7) Toluene --- found in nail polish and hair dyes, it can be toxic to the immune system and may cause birth defects. (8) Triclosan --- found in anti-bacterial soaps, causes antibiotic-resistant bacteria and may cause reproductive and hormonal issues as well as birth defects. None of our products has these ingredients.

We use reusable/recyclable and eco-friendly ingredients in all our products as much as we can. Only synthetic ingredients/materials are used if their natural alternatives don't exist or do not meet our quality criteria. To help reduce our share of pollution in the environment, we reuse some of the packaging materials our tools and ingredients come in to repack our products with. Our transition from depending on plastic packaging materials to more eco-friendly ones will be an ever-evolving effort and will always be done with a view toward balancing production cost while maintaining product quality. We utilize 3rd party shipping partners for this and as such, are subject to their shipping policies. All orders are shipped out within 3 - 5 work days for Metro Manila, and 5 - 7 work days for provincial orders. Areas that are out of our shipping partners' area coverage will be arranged with another shipping company and may delay order arrivals. We will be in touch with you if such an arrangement is necessary. Your orders are packed well and securely to minimize damage during shipping. However, as we do not have control over our couriers while they are in the middle of shipping your order, we may not be held liable for damage incurred during transit. To mitigate circumstances like these, we recommend that you insure your package. Shipping Fee Insurance from our couriers is available. Just tell us in the comment window (located in the cart page) before checking out if you would like to avail of it. The insurance fee is 1% of the total computed value of your order and will be added to your total payment amount if you choose this option. Maximum insurance liability is P10,000.
